Shotwell System

Shotwell System

The Shotwell System is a very interesting betting strategy. Rather than changing your betting pattern depending on the result of each spin by a certain amount, you keep your chips in the same place each time. The Paroli, Martingale, Oscar’s Grind, d’Alembert Strategy, and the vast majority of the betting systems rely on increasing and decreasing your bet. What’s more, these betting strategies are strictly used on the 1 to 1 outside betting areas. The Shotwell Method is kind of like fixed betting, but rather than staying in the outside betting areas, you place chips in the inside betting areas. This also means that, unlike the other aforementioned betting systems, this one can only be used in Roulette. While the others can be used in the double or nothing Craps bet, as well as while playing Blackjack.

How It Works

The idea here is to cover a quarter of the Roulette wheel. This means you not only have a good chance of winning, but the payout potential is significantly higher than simple doing the dozen number street bets. In order to cover a quarter of the wheel, you place a single bet on any double street. To do this, you place your chip (or single stack of chips) on the line between the first, second, or third dozen bet and the inside betting area. These are the dozen bets next to the 1 to 1 bets, not the ones at the bottom under the 34, 35, and 36 numbers (the street bets). The single bet also need to be on the middle line between two inside numbers, which will select those two and the four additional numbers in the line. Then, you place four individual bets on four random numbers, as long as they are not one of the six numbers of the double street bet. Now, you are ready for the wheel to spin. Just click the rebet button when you’re playing online rather than laying all the bets out again like you would at a land-based casino to repeat the bet. Now you have a little more than a quarter of the wheel covered.

The payout for the double street is 5 to 1. The payout for the individual numbers is 35 to 1. If you place a $5 bet on the double street, and a $1 bet on each of the individual numbers, or an equivalent in difference, you will profit if the ball lands in one of the pockets you’ve bet on. That profit will either be good or very high.

Conclusion

If the odds are on your side, this strategy can be very beneficial, but if they’re not, it can cost you in the long term. In fact, if you use any betting strategy in the long term, you are mathematically guaranteed to lose your bankroll, so set a timer and know when to walk away. Also, since a lot of online casinos offer the chance to play their games for free in demo practice mode, you can try it out and experience its effectiveness firsthand before you have to use any of your actual bankroll. It is important to note, however, that some only casinos do not offer the double street bet. So be sure that they do before you go into the game planning on using the Shotwell System.
