Entry Requirements
The casino is open 24/7 but it’s worth noting that some areas, such as the poker room have limited operating hours at certain times of the week, so it’s a good idea to check with the casino in advance. Casino management are also open to special bookings and will vary their policy on room openings for high rollers.
There is no entrance fee for the casino, but all casino goers must be over the age of 19 to go onto the gaming floor, and while the dress code isn’t strict, patrons are required to wear shoes and a shirt, while offensive clothing is not permitted. Be prepared to be asked to show a valid form of government-issued ID if you look under the age of 21.
Games
Casino Niagara can offer an impressive 95,000 square feet of gaming area, though this is spread across two floors. In all, there are more than 1500 slots titles, including a significant number of progressive jackpot games, so players who like to tilt at the big prize will have plenty of opportunity to land a multi-million dollar jackpot. It’s also worth noting that Casino Niagara generally has lower table limits than those at the Fallsview, particularly at weekend, making it an ideal venue for casual or small stakes players.
The choice of table games is solid, and includes forty different options, ranging from blackjack, roulette and Mississippi stud to three-card poker, Casino War, Spanish War and Blackjack Switch. Poker players are also catered for with a special twelve-table poker room that provides both high and low limit Texas Hold’em games, with a healthy number of cash games and tournaments, along with bad beat jackpots. And sports bettors will enjoy the Sports Section, which hosts hockey, football, college basketball and baseball betting as well as giving patrons the chance to watch the games live.
Bonuses
The management at Casino Niagara go to great lengths to provide an attractive and regularly updated range of promotions. Ladies Night, which takes place every Friday evening, is particularly popular and details of other offers are available through the website or by visiting the Players Advantage Club (PAC) booth at the casino. The PAC is free for all visitors to join and offers rewards such as cash-back deals, complimentary buffets and show tickets.
Food and Entertainment
As any visitor to Niagara Falls will tell you, there is a great range of places to eat at this tourist destination, but if you don’t want to leave the casino, then you can enjoy a number of dining options, including the famous Market Buffet, a steakhouse, a buffet, a café and a bar.
Casino Niagara also does a good job of offering a selection of entertainment. Wednesday night is tribute night and features live tribute shows themed around legends such as Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Garth Brooks, and there are comedy shows and other live music acts regularly staged at the casino, all of which are listed on their website.
Accommodation
Casino Niagara doesn’t have any hotel accommodation, but in a tourist spot like Niagara Falls, that isn’t really a problem. The casino is surrounded by a range of hotels, offering accommodation for every budget and every type of visitor, from families to high rollers.
Extras
Although Casino Niagara has been overshadowed to an extent by the Falls View Casino and a number of other high profile Canadian establishments, this classic venue has a lot to offer, including a distinctive, and laid back ambience that make it a pleasure to spend time in. It can’t compete in terms of leisure facilities and has no accommodation, but if you’re looking for a purist’s casino that looks after its customers and provides useful perks such as free parking and other gifts, Casino Niagara is well worth checking out.
